Dennis Itumbi says he “disagree” with DPP charges on Pauline Njoroge.

The United Democratic Alliance UDA communication Strategist Dennis Itumbi has called out the Gov’t over arrest of Pauline Njoroge, who is an ordent Azimio’s blogger.

In his statement, Itumbi faulted DPP saying publishing fake information is the order of the day amongst mainstream media.

“Publishing on mainstream and on Social Media includes the right to make mistakes, to get it WRONG.

“That is why Media houses carry apologies on their pages after getting it wrong. It is okay in the business of publishing to get it wrong!” Itumbi said.

According to Itumbi, on Social media, Fake News cannot be cured by arresting anyone and that the best way is to fact check them and state the right position.

“Importantly, it has been upheld across civilization, that even the right to insult is part of Free Speech.” He said.

Itumbi further noted that he disagrees with the charges laid on Pauline Njoroge.

“On this one, with utmost respect to the office of the DPP, I disagree.

“Ati cyber harassment – President William Samoei Ruto is not someone you can harass on Social Media. Haiwezekani! Nooo. This I disagree 💯 “

Itumbi recalled that he has been arrested four times based on the same fake news and was set free.

“I have been arrested and charged 4 times on this petty law and won. It is simply not the way to go.

“Apana! Free Pauline Njoroge and if you can drop these charges. I chose silence till I saw the charge sheet!”

According to the charge sheet seen by K47 news, Pauline Njoroge was being accused of posting an inciting text on her twitter page about Luo Nyanza massacre.

“The massacre happening in Nyanza is heartbreaking. The images are so painful to see 😭😭😭.

“Men’s organs are being mutilated, other forms of atrocities, crimes against humanity also happening especially in the Nyalenda area. Why would the government persecute its people it’s such a manner. Why would it terrorize its own citizens?”
