Khartoum war: RSF Issues what it terms as “Important Statement”

Rapid Support Force RSF, in a statement dated 26th April 2023 says, “in the face of continuous and deliberate breaches of the declared humanitarian truce, the coup forces, consisting of remnants and ex-regime members, persist in attacking various Rapid Support Forces controlled posts, including the presidential palace and Soba camps area, using heavy artillery and warplanes.”

RSF note, “we’ve previously warned against such actions, which violate international humanitarian law and contradict the declared truce, meant to open safe corridors, and facilitate the movement of citizens and foreign nationals.”

It remarks that the attack on humanitarian truce confirms the existence of multiple decision making leader within the coup force.

“This was made evident by the statement of wanted criminal Ahmed Haroun, who highlighted the ex-regime’s involvement in this conflict.”

It adds, “we have shown great restraint in the face of these violations, and now call upon the international community to assume immediate responsibility for addressing the ongoing breaches of the truce terms.”
