Gachagua spill beans on why Odinga ended demonstration.

The Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spilled the beans on why the Azimio team led by Raila Amolo Odinga ended there weekly demonstration.

Speaking in a video footage shared by citizen TV, the second in command said the Azimio La Umoja team reached on president William Samoe Ruto and asked him to give them an exit strategy from demonstration.

According to Gachagua, Azimio sent representative to Ruto detailing that they have come to an end, “the international community have abandoned us, the church, people are against us and we want to call off this demonstration, can you please give us an exit strategy”

Gachagua noted that the president told them that there is no problem and that they can go to parliament and negotiate their way out, “with Kimani Ichungwa, Wandeto, go talk to them what your issues are …. They will make a decision because we have nothing to do with you.”

Gachagua detailed that president called and briefed him about the discussion to which he agreed and said “fine let them go and talk to parliament.

However, Gachagua has reiterated that they can’t angage Odinga untill he publicly acknowledge William Samoe Ruto as the president of Kenya.

“So…the issues of us having discussion doesn’t arise because because he said he doesn’t recognise Ruto as the president…So how do you talk to someone who doesn’t recognise your legitimacy?” questioned Gachagua.

In that reason, they asked Odinga to ask his MPs to talk in parliament otherwise they can’t speak to Odinga. “Who is he in Kenya? We talk to him as who? He is just an ordinary citizen.”

Gachagua noted that if Odinga has personal issues he can go and speak to them, they will listen to him.

” How can we angage Odinga when is not elected by anybody in Kenya. We angage him us who? Yet he doesn’t recognise Ruto as the president? “

Gachagua asked parliament to listen to Odinga’s demands and that president Ruto and him have no time with him (Odinga)
