Kakamega: Police lob teargas to contain Azimio protests as “Ruto must go” rent the air.
Activity in Kakamega City was paralyzed this morning after residents took to the streets to support Rail Odinga’s rally against the cost of living and other causes.
Police had to use tear gas to disperse demonstrators who were marching through the city chanting “Ruto must go.”
Videos and photos posted online show the city’s protesters angaging in a running battle with police which in a busy streets which is usually silence even during these events.
Now Kakamega is joining opposition leader Raila Odinga in Nairobi, Kisumu and other cities where Azimyo Coalition supporters have emerged to protest.
Despite campaigning raising cost of living, Raila wants the government of President William Ruto to engage the opposition in the election of new IEBC members.
