President William Samoe Ruto has finally broken his silence over the Azimio-OKA Monday planned mass action.
Speaking at a Church Service, Kapsabet Showground, Nandi County, president Ruto has asked clergymen to pray for the planned mass action while promising to deal with Azimio-OKA team.
“Kwa mambo ya maandamano, maaskofu nyinyi mtaomba mungu, na sisi tutapambana na wao,” President Ruto said.
Ruto details that his friend Raila Amolo Odinga has no tangible reason to cause violence, and that the mass action by planned by Odinga is to destroy people properties.
The first in Command detailed that Raila’s politics thrives on violence.
He says Odinga politics of violence can be traced back to when he tried to overthrow the government and that he isn’t reforming any time soon.
He accused Odinga of trying to capture power through unconstitutional means.
“… Huyu muungwana tunamjua… ametesa Watu wa Nyanza, Mandamano, Kuwapiganisha,…. amewauzia uoga na kuwafanya watumwa ..” Ruto said.
Ruto further said he is read to engage with any leader but in a constitutional way without threates and ultimatum.
“I’m ready to engage with any leader in a constitutional, legal manner. We aren’t going to engage in anarchy, you are not going to threaten us with ultimatums.”
The first in command noted that they will be rewarding impurities if they succumb to Odinga’s threats.
He assured Kenyans that no life will be lost as Gov’t will look after them and guard people’s properties.
Ruto says Kenya has police who are professional and they will ensure that every citizen’s right is jealously guarded.
On the LGBTQ community, Ruto said “Katiba, mila na desturi yetu iko wazi kwa mambo ya wanawake na wanaume… Attorney General anarudi kortini kuuliza mahakama ifanye review ya hiyo decision. Hatutakubali kulazimishiwa mambo ambayo siyo yetu.”
Ruto was accompanied by Deputy President @rigathi, Prime Cabinet Secretary @MusaliaMudavadi, Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, Principal Secretaries, MPs and MCAs, among other leaders.
