“Religious faith is personal matter, Separate it from State” – MP Lecture Pres’ Ruto.
Former Mukurueni MP Kabando Wa Kabando has hit out at president William Samoe Ruto’s administration over religious beliefs.
He lecture Kenya Kwanza administration saying it need visionary leadership and flood the prayer for Cash at State House.
“Japan, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, Finland & Sweden economic prosperity wasn’t because of state religious prayers. Honest and Visionary leadership made it happen. Moi’s kleptocracy flooded with prayers-for-cash; 24yrs, VoK sunday no1 item was “Moi in church”. We’re here, again.” Kabando Wa Kabando said.
Kabando Wa Kabando told Ruto’s administration that Religious is a “personal matter” and should be separated from the state
“Religious faith is personal matter. Kenya is not a theocracy. I believe in a Deity, ALMIGHTY GOD – OMNIPOTENT GOD of the Ostrich Mountain (Kírínyaga) – MWENE NYAGA, though a professed Christian. Daily, I conduct prayer but I too believe in separation between State and Religion.” he said.
Kabando faulted Ruto’s Gov’t for hosting “National Breakfast Prayer” at 5 star hotel saying it is theft of public funds disguised as prayer yet 85% of us are corrupt.
“When govt uses public funds to host exclusive ‘national prayer breakfast’ in 5-star hotels, it is theft. We’ve so much corruption yet 85% of us are proffessed Christians. Public Officers swear by the Bible, then proceed to murder, steal thus violating the very oath of office.Speaking on religion and the state is a very sensitive and tricky question.”
Kabando questioned the use of public fund to promote a particular religion which he say breaches the constitution.
“Yet public funds shouldn’t promote a particular religious faith. It’s to breach Constitution.”
Kabando, without directly referring to Ruto said Religion is mostly used in African Dictators to blind the masses.
“Religion is misused by African dictators to blind the masses. If you question, you’re labelled ungodly.Great leaders like Malaysia’s Mahadhir Muhammad, Kenya’s Mwai Kibaki, Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew or Rwanda’s Paul Kagame did not misuse their religious faiths for politics. They used their brains to honestly deliver for their nations. This is what we need for Kenya today, tomorrow.” he said.
