Kisumu residents who held mass action demo to protest high cost of living try to force their way into Kisumu State Lodge.

A source in Kisumu with knowledge of the matter told K47 that a group of rowdy teenagers stormed the hall minutes after Chiloba began speaking to the media.

This prompted the former chief executive officer of the Independent Border and Electoral Commission (IEBC) to call off the event and head towards the car.

At a political rally in the Siaya area on Tuesday, March 13, RAILA declared Monday, March 20th, a day off for supporters to take part in protests.

Other protesters were after cabinet secretary Eliud Ovalo’s life, who was to be the chief guest of the event.

Kisumu County leaders have confirmed that they will hold protests on Wednesday and Friday to support Raila’s call for mass action. Led by Lieutenant Governor Matthew Owili they will move across the county starting at 10 am, he said.

“We do not want any kind of violence or bloodshed. It is going to be peaceful. We are only doing this because it is the only alternative that we have. In the name of Azimio one Kenya Alliance, we declare that Monday, March 20th will be a public Holiday,” Raila said at Azimio rally.
