US will proudly advance LGBTQ+persons – US Ambassador to Kenya says

The United States of America Embassy to Kenya Meg Whitman says the US Proudly will fight to advance the LGBTQ rights.

In a statement on Wednesday 14th 2023 via twitter, Meg Whitman note that her team has in the past week met with LGBTQ community and stakeholders to support human human rights of LGBTQ persons.

“Over the past week my team and I met with the LGBTQI+ community & stakeholders to support human rights of LGBTQI+ persons.” Meg Whitman said in statement on a twitter post.

She further note that the US will proudly advance efforts to protect LGBTQ persons against discrimination and violence adding that they will stand up for their human rights and equality.

“The U.S. proudly advances efforts to protect LGBTQI+ persons from discrimination & violence and will continue to stand up for human rights & equality.”

This comes has Kenyans polical class are opposed to LGBTQ in the country citing that it goes against African Tradition and culture.

President Ruto was among the top leadership in the country who are opposed to LGBTQ practice.

Homabay MP Peter Kaluma and former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko are among the political class who have been vocal to reject the LGBTQ in Kenya.

Kaluma has even drafted a bill seeking to abolish LGBTQ in the country.

Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s Facebook account has been suspended following his strong critism of LGBTQ community through his FB page.
