Kenya: Former CA Director Francis Wangusi dies at Nairobi Hospital.

The Former Communications Authority Director General Francis Wangusi has died.

He died Wednesday afternoon at Nairobi Hospital where he has been undergoing treatment.

The CA announced the heartbreaking news via Twitter.

“It is with profound sadness that we have received news on the passing on of former CA Director General Mr. Francis Wangusi which occurred this afternoon at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been receiving treatment.” CA reported.

The Communication Authority of Kenya laid praises on Mr. Wangusi saying he oversaw significant milestones in the ICT industry, including the transition to digital television broadcasting and the sector’s exponential growth during his tenure from 2012 until his retirement on 22nd August 2019.

“May his soul find rest in perfect peace.” The statement read.

“This is quite sad and we celebrate his life and contributions that he made in the ICT and CyberSecurity sector in this nation. May he rest in eternal peace.”

Former defence CS Eugene Wamalwa hailed Wangusi saying the family has lost a loving husband, father but the nation a brilliant and visionary leader.

“My deepest condolonces to the family of my friend Francis Wangusi, former DG CA, who passed away today in Nairobi. The family has lost a loving husband &father but the Nation has lost a brilliant, visionary and fearless leader who oversaw Kenya’s digital migration against great odds.” Said Eugene.
