The Nandi County Senator Hon. Samson Cherargei has warned Judicial on its recent ruling about the 50 CASs.
According to a three judge bench, the three CASs are unconditional.
Reacting to the ruling, Senator Cherargei noted that Judiciary, just like any other arm of government like Executive and Parliament “MUST be ready to be call out when they go ROGUE !.”
He specifically called out Chief Justice Martha Koome saying she led Judiciary “which is most likely to go down as one of the most incompetent, ineffective , corrupt and inept in post independence kenya!.”
“We cannot allow justice to be auctioned to the highest bidder or represent partisan interests or be gatekeepers of political machinations. This was NOT the intention of the constitution 2010.” Said Cherargei.
While the Judiciary is an independent institution, according to Cherargei, “it does NOT give them the right to act in excess while enjoying unchecked power.”
“VIBRANT democracy recognises checks and balances in ALL Arms of government including Judiciary. Who will watch the watcher ?”
