Brentford’s win from behind in a memorable 3–1 win over Tottenham Hotspur bolstered their hopes of retaining European football next season.
Harry Kane scored his 30th goal of the season with a 30-yard strike and the Spurs took the lead in a superb first-half play from home-ground.
However, when Brian Mbeumo scored two goals in the 12th minute of the first half, most of the crowd shut their mouths and Tottenham fans exploded in anger at the Tottenham president and the club, shouting the slogan “Get out”.
And Yoan Wisssa sealed the victory with an energetic finish that infuriated the fans with two minutes left.
Having secured their place in the Premier League, Brentford are now one point behind seventh-placed Tottenham and two points behind sixth-placed Brighton, allowing them to secure a place in Europe next season.
