Eleven people are feared dead after a Super Metro bus rammed into a lorry.
The grisly Accident is said to have been caused by a Super Metro bus from Kampala which was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry in Ahero on the Kisumu- Nairobi Highway.
The deceased, according to preliminary reports include two women, 8 men and a teenage boy.
A total of 53 passengers suffered injuries as a result of the said accident.
The accident occurred on Monday, January 29, morning at around 2:30 am where the bus rammed into a lorry ferrying sugar along the Ahero-Awasi road at a centre called Othoo while trying to overtake.
Lives photos from the scene of accidents are going viral on various social media platforms.
Kenyans on X platform have sympathised with the affected families.
“Pole sana to the families that have lost their loved ones and those that sustained injuries may they recover soon.
A video shared on X platform shows people stealing sugar after the accident leading to questions on humanity amongst Kenyans at such a time.
One social media user wrote: “The fact that people are still stealing sugar after what just happened tells you alot about humans.”
Former Nairobi Governor Mbuvi Sonko described the day as ” a sad Monday”.
