Sonko returns grabbed land to 106-yr-old granny, 8 years after forceful eviction – Eastleigh.
The former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has returned the grabbed land to granny who was forcefully evicted from her land.
The old woman, identified as Hannah Sila Kasivi, who is said to be deceased was reportedly kicked out of her land in 2015 by unknown powerful land grabbers
“I would like to notify the public that Yesterday the 10th, May 2023, I handed over the title deed of the 106 years old granny Hannah Sila Kasivi (now deceased) back to her siblings. Hannah was forcefully evicted from her family house in Eastleigh in 2015 by known and powerful land grabbers.” He said.
Sonko says he managed to secure the title deed after a court battle and he has kept it for the last 8 years.
According to Sonko, he kept the land documents after it emerged that the cartel wanted to assassinate anyone who tried to pursue the case.
“However after a successful battle in court and on the ground I managed to be the custodian of the title deed and in possession of the land on behalf of the family for the last 8years after it emerged that the grabbing cartels had on several occasions tried to assassinate the granny and any family member who tried to pursue the case.”
” Unfortunately now that the deceased died due to old age, yesterday the 10th, May 2023 at 2:37pm I handed over all the relevant title documents as well as the possession of the land back to the family in presence of their lawyer Martin Mbichire. I wish them well in their future endeavours.”
