Truth on Why Court Ordered reopen of New Life Church.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s New Life Church was closed for a suspected connection with pastor Mackenzie cult where over 100 bodies were exhumed.

However, a High Court in Mombasa High has, on 3rd May 2023 ordered Inspector General Japhet Koome to reopen the Church with immediate effect.

Police did shoddy work on investigation:

Kenyan police arrested pastor Ezekiel without an investigation. Investigation should have been done properly get evidence, arrest and prosecute. The reopening of New Life Church has exposed Kenyans police, they arrest, ask the court to keep holding the victim then start looking for evidence which in many case culprit are left free of escorts for lack of evidence.

The Shakahola Shock Gov’t:

The shakahola got the the govt shocked. That’s why Ezekiel got arrested, so that the Gov’t could be seen to be working. They searched for evidence against him but found none.

State prosecution without evidence:

The Threshold test in both the National Prosecution Policy and the DTC. The state can prosecute with little evidence in the hope of getting more as investigations continue. This test is often abused to allow pre-trial detention but necessary for urgent public interest matters.

Public emotion:

The arrest and closure of Ezekiel Church was driven by emotions and public opinion without substantial evidence that can stand in court.
