Kindiki in Marsabit over ethnicity, 4 killed, 2 injured.

The Interior CS Kithure Kindiki is in Marsabit County over ethnic killings and retaliation amongst communities.

This comes after several were killed in previous weeks. He meets security agencies In the region to bolster security in the affected area.

Kindiki seeking peace and cohesion coexistence among communities.

“Peace building and cohesive coexistence between communities is an integral part of national security.” Said Kindiki

Adding, “Meeting the Marsabit County Security and Intelligence Committee in Marsabit Town to develop approaches to addressing the escalating security situation, following recent cases of ethnic killings and retaliations among the communities in Marsabit County in the last few weeks.”

The visit comes hours after four family members were shot dead by unknown assailants along Badasa-Songa road near Midrock area on Tuesday 3rd May 2023.

Those killed were a man, his wife, a child and a male relative.

Two others reportedly escaped death and were taken to Marsabit Referral Hospital for medication according to Star Publication.

There has been insecurities in the area for years and the interior CS Kithure Kindiki says he want to end the menace once and for all.

He is currently angaging the security agencies in the region to ensuring that security is sustained.
