KK MP opposes arrest of pastor Ezekiel: “… wasn’t warranted”

The Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has hit out at police following the arrest of pastor Ezekiel Odeto.

In a statement, the Kenya Kwanza MP noted that the police wasn’t warranted to arrest the man of God.

He argued that one criminal, in reference to controversial pastor Mackenzie and the one referring to himself as yesu wa Tongaren shouldn’t not make Kenyans to condemn the whole church.

“I don’t think it was warranted for police to arrest Pastor Ezekiel Odero.” Said Didmus Barasa.

He added: “One criminal who was running a cult and another one referring to himself as Yesu wa Tongaren cannot be the cause and or result to blanket condemnation of the church. God will punish us heavily for this…… I strongly oppose this act….”

His remarks comes hours after pastor Dorcas Gachagua called on Pastor Mackenzie defended to be treated as an individual criminal and not the whole church.

She defended the church, saying that Mackenzie could have acted on his own free will and therefore the case should be considered separately from the riots against the church and the persecution of deacons.

She called on law enforcement to investigate and bring justice through due process.

Dorcas Rigathi noted that “We cannot stand there and say because one Christian has been caught in a compromising situation, the whole body of Christ should be condemned. A criminal is a criminal, a terrorist is a terrorist, a murderer is a murderer.” According to Kenyans.co.ke reports.
